In a reserved ruling on Wednesday, the Pakistani Supreme Court stated that late Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not given a “fair trial” and went on to condemn and execute him. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, who presides over a nine-member bench of the highest court, postponed making a decision on Monday about the 2011 presidential reference that sought to review Bhutto’s death and sentence. CJP Isa declared the brief order, saying, “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto did not get a fair trial and it was not in accordance with the Constitutional requirement of due process.”
