The terrible death of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash has left Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari in deep sorrow.
Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi passed away in the East Azerbaijan province of his country when his chopper transporting him and his entourage crashed.
During a visit to the northwest of the country, the chopper made a difficult landing, according to Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.
Malek Rahmati, the governor of Azarbaijan Province, and Hossein Amirabdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, were also on board the downed plane.
Ebrahim Raisi and his party had just finished the Sunday groundbreaking of a dam at the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan and were headed to Tabriz City.
The President and the Prime Minister both sent their sincere condolences in separate statements.
