ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi stressed on Wednesday that women should actively participate in all spheres of society and that their lack of participation in decision-making and the economic power structures is one of the reasons Pakistan lacks prosperity. Speaking at the 12th Convocation of International Islamic University Islamabad, the president claimed that the country’s investment in women’s education was squandered because these women remained at home and did not pursue practical careers.
