ISLAMABAD– Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Monday that while he wishes that both him and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah survive, yet Mr. Sana would not if he contested.

In response to Mr. Sana’s assertion that Mr. Khan or his political opponents would survive and that Mr. Khan had brought the nation to a point of no return, he made the aforementioned statement. Speaking to reporters in front of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), he declared that if Mr. Sana had predicted that he, Mr. Khan, would not live, he would like to assert that Mr. Sana would not continue. He continued, “Their [the PML-N’s]government will be gone if they lose the backing.”

He went on to say that doors were always open for political negotiation adding that whoever kept the umpires on their sides did not know what a level playing field meant. “We can negotiate but only on one-point agenda of holding elections”, he added. pon the journalist’s question about whose rule was in the country, he replied that everyone knew the answer adding that there was no rule of law in the country. “Azhar Mashwani was arrested and [his nephew] Hassan Niazi was arrested after being granted bail”, he added.

Earlier, Mr Khan moved the IHC against Mr Sana’s remarks stating that the interior minister had threatened him in a TV interview. Mr Khan named the federal government, Islamabad IG and SSP Operations as respondents.

On the other hand, PTI general secretary Asad Umar said the court should take notice of Mr Sana’s remarks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan accused on Monday the police of attacking his party’s workers and photographer in plain clothes.

The deposed premier said, “As witnessed in Judicial Complex on March 18. Today, again, peaceful PTI workers and even our photographer were attacked and arrested by police. This is the height of provocation, using violence against peaceful citizens and abducting them”.

“Even my parked car with no one inside was attacked with windows smashed. This is pure fascism being carried out at the behest of Islamabad IG to create terror in ordinary citizens who support the PTI,” he claimed.

Last week, Mr Khan claimed the Islamabad and Punjab police were breaking all the laws with impunity.

He said, “Today Azhar Mashwani was abducted in the afternoon from Lahore and his whereabouts are unknown.”

“On March 18, Senator Shibli Faraz and Omar Sultan were badly beaten by ICT police despite both having permission to be inside the Judicial Complex,” he claimed.

Speaking about Hassaan Niazi, Mr Khan said, “Hassaan Niazi was abducted immediately after getting bail and later charged with sham FIRs to keep him locked up”.

Talking about approaching the human rights organisations, Mr Khan said, “I am sending pictures of Punjab IG, ICT, and all officers indulging in this criminal behavior to international human rights organisations.
