Uzbek envoy calls on Khawaja Asif

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Defence and Defence Production, was visited here Thursday by Mr. Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The defence minister emphasised that Pakistan values its relationship with Uzbekistan, which is founded on shared religious, cultural, and historical characteristics.
According to a press release, Pakistan plans to work with Uzbekistan in areas that will benefit both countries, including defence collaboration.
The commitment of the Uzbek people and government to cooperate closely with Pakistan in order to further develop the two countries’ bilateral ties was communicated and reiterated by the visiting ambassador.
