RAWALPINDI: In a fierce gunfight during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general Tank area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two Pakistani soldiers chose martyrdom while killing three active terrorists.
Early on Sunday, the Security Forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the general Tank area in response to reports of terrorist activity, according to a news release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Three terrorists were killed as a result of a fierce firefight between security forces and the insurgents that occurred during the operation. According to the ISPR, the terrorists who were killed were still actively engaged in a number of terrorist attacks against security personnel and unarmed civilians.
However, during a fierce fire exchange, Naik Muhammad Atiq (age 39 years, resident of District Chakwal) and Naik Rajab Ali (age 36 years, resident of District Attock) having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat (martyrdom).
The sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
“The Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.
