Three children died, five injured in Lahore house fire

LAHORE, : At least three children of a family died and five other persons received burn injuries as fire erupted at a house in Lahore on in the wee hour of Friday.

According to rescue sources, the tragic incident was reported in Lahore’s Chungi Amar Sadhu where a blaze killed three children while their parents and three other children were wounded.

Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to the General Hospital. Rescue sources also informed that the fire erupted due to short-circuit.

The five injured including a couple and their three other children were rushed to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

The deceased children were identified as two-year-old Ali Abbas, four-year-old Zahra and six-year-old Laraib.

The injured were identified as 40-year-old Maratab Ali and 35-year-old Farzana Maratab. The injured children were named as Ali Raza, Ali Hassan and Ali Hamza.

The authorities were investigating to determine what caused the fire to start in the house.

Expressing his grief on the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has summoned a report from the commissioner Lahore division and has ordered the provision of the best possible medical facilities to the injured.
