Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor took to twitter on said on Thursday and termed the vicious murder of Superintendent Police (SP) Tahir Dawar in Afghanistan as highly condemnable.
The ISPR DG said that the kidnapping of the SP, his transfer to Afghanistan and the follow up behaviour of the Afghan authorities raised serious questions. “The SP’s killing was not just the work of a terrorist organisation in Afghanistan, but some others were also involved,” he added.
Asif Ghafoor further said that the Afghan security forces should cooperate in border fencing and bilateral border security coordination to deny the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan especially when the Pakistani authorities were investigating the murder.
Earlier, the Foreign Office of Pakistan said that the Afghan government had confirmed the discovery of a body along with the service card of SP Dawar. The body was handed over to the Pakistani officials. It said the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul that locals found a body in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province on Tuesday.
