ISLAMABAD: Syed Amin Ul Haque, the federal minister of information technology and telecommunications, stated on Thursday that the Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework would soon be finalized in an effort to boost service quality.
The initiative would help lower operational costs for telecom operators while also improving the quality of services, the minister said while presiding over a consultative meeting on the Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework. A representative of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), the Secretary IT Mohsin Mushtaq, Member Telecom Muhammad Omar Malik, and representatives from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and PTCL were also present. The Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework was a hot topic during the meeting, and it was decided that the initiative was necessary. The meeting’s attendees appreciated the Ministry of IT & Telecom’s efforts in this area.
The minister said the ministry would take every possible step for the betterment of the country and masses.
He said that joint efforts were needed to provide quality telecom services to people, adding the protection of interests of mobile operators and masses was our responsibility.
Meanwhile, in more news from the federal government, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain Thursday termed investment in emerging technological fields as crucial for the future of our country.
The minister stated this during his visit to the FDE STEM makers spaces developed in collaboration with Robotmea in Islamabad Model School for Girls (IMSG), G-6/1-3.
The minister visited the STEM Makerspace established at the school under the Knowledge Economy Initiative which is a PSDP-funded project.
The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Professional Training and executed by the Federal Directorate of Education.
The event was held as part of activities to mark International Women’s day to highlight the accomplishments of women in technology and encourage students to pursue careers in STEAM fields.
Secretary Education, Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary and Director General, FDE welcomed the minister at the site while Director Planning, Inam Jahangir, Director Academics, Riffat Jabeen along with their team briefed about the project.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister stated that the girls need to be persistent through challenges and communicate ideas and concepts more effectively.
He also encouraged FDE and its team, girls and teachers on their hard work regarding showcasing their skills by making innovative robotics projects.
A pilot project for STEM Teaching in 30 schools in FDE is running successfully in Islamabad which is providing equal opportunities to both male and female students to pursue and thrive in STEAM careers, ensuring a diverse and talented STEAM workforce and preventing biases in these fields.
