Azam Nazeer Tarar, the federal minister of law and justice, praised the opposition on Wednesday for using the parliamentary platform to voice concerns, highlighting this as a characteristic of democracy.
“It is encouraging to see opposition members using the parliament for discussion of the issues rather than confrontation,” he remarked while speaking on the National Assembly floor. This is what democracy is all about.
He emphasised that the people of Pakistan have trusted their elected officials to speak about their problems at the country’s highest forum and seek practical answers.
The minister emphasised the value of having productive conversations in parliament and stated that since taxpayer funds are being used to fund the proceedings, it is critical to respect the forum for substantive discussion.
