Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, met with Leslie Scanlon, the Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan, on Tuesday and stressed the value of fostering stronger commercial relations with Canada.
During their conversation, Minister Tarar emphasised the advantages that both nations stand to gain from improved economic ties. They also talked about a number of important topics, such as the government’s economic objectives and bilateral relations.
The minister was commended by High Commissioner Scanlon for taking on the extra portfolio of National Heritage and Culture in addition to his duties in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The importance of the long-standing and complex connection between Canada and Pakistan was emphasised by Minister Tarar, who also mentioned that Ottawa is one of Pakistan’s main development partners. HC Scanlon conveyed gratitude for Pakistan’s economic endeavours.
