Tarar for measures at global level to counter misuse of social media

Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, stated on Friday that global action was required to stop the propagation of false information and the abuse of social media.

Speaking to a group of Bangladeshi journalists who were visiting Pakistan, he stated, “The Government of Pakistan recognises the importance of freedom of the press and freedom of expression and it is determined to protect the rights of journalists.”

The discussion covered a number of significant topics, such as government economic efforts and the right to free speech.

According to the minister, Shehbaz Sharif’s government is entirely focused on achieving economic stability.
