Attaullah Tarar, the federal minister of information and broadcasting, attacked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday, saying that members of the organisation are now endangering the interests of the country. The attacks occurred on May 9 of last year.
Speaking to the media, Tarar underlined that Pakistan’s enemies were those who weakened the nation’s interests.
He highlighted the unfortunate trend of PTI leadership denying statements that go against the interests of the nation, expressing dismay at placing political agendas and ego above national interests.
He asked for heavenly direction so that these people could speak well for the nation.
The minister denounced the acts that crossed the line into anti-national behaviour, emphasising that although criticising the government and its policies is permissible, criticising Pakistan is not. He expressed optimism for advancement and acknowledged the assistance of friendly nations in investing in and working with Pakistan.
