Subway under fire for unisex toilet in Lahore

Subway, a multinational fast food restaurant franchise also operating in several cities of Pakistan has come under fire by users on social media for having unisex toilets in one of it’s branches in Lahore.

According to social media reports, Subway Lahore Iqbal Town branch features only one type of rest rooms instead of separate ones for male and female customers, a move that has been severely criticized by visitors.

Complainants while lambasting the international food company for flouting the social norms of the Pakistani society said that the move was aimed to forcefully westernize Pakistani society and impose western values.

It is pertinent to mention here that unisex washrooms have been a controversial subjects even in the developed world with several studies showing that they cause an increase in instances of sexual assaults.

Earlier this year, A subway store was sealed in Islamabad by Capital city food department for unhygienic conditions.
