Smog-related restrictions being withdrawn: Punjab CM

The cabinet committee for smog eradication met at the office of  Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the state  of affairs. During the meeting, specialists in the fields of health and the  environment provided recommendations on how to counteract the  negative impacts of smog. Following careful consideration, Chief Minister Naqvi declared that the restrictions caused by the haze would be lifted and that on  Friday and Saturday, marketplaces, eateries, establishments, and  companies will stay open. In addition, Punjab’s educational institutions will begin their  winter break on December 18. The CM gave the administration, LWMC, and PHA instructions to  keep watering and cleaning the roads. In order to make sure that measures are taken to maintain low  air quality index, he also ordered crackdown on factories that burn tyres and cars that generate large amounts of smoke.
