‘Senators taken oath to protect the constitution’

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani was forced to suspend the meeting until Monday due to lack of quorum on Friday. Not long after the Chairman gave Sherry Rehman the floor, Senator Fida Muhammad called attention to the quorum. Senator Mohsin Aziz had earlier made point of order speech in which he stated that while senators served as the House representatives for their respective provinces, they also swore to uphold the constitution. He claimed that the wars in Afghanistan and against terrorism were primarily fought in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He claimed that in comparison to other provinces, both of these provinces were still developing. According to him, it required unique incentives in order to integrate them with other developed areas. Mohsin Azia was grateful to the current caretaker government for limiting the rise in dollar prices.
