ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s sympathy with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination was reaffirmed by the Senate on Friday, when a resolution was overwhelmingly passed. Senator Kamil Ali Agha’s motion reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political support for the people of Kashmir. The Indian brutalities and killings of thousands of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) were harshly denounced in the resolution. It pleaded with the international community to quickly establish a Commission of Inquiry to look into the egregious violation of human rights that occurred in IIOJK. Additionally, the House disapproved of the phoney elections that were held in the valley.
