Senate passes motion to elect finance committee

A move to elect the Senate Finance Committee, with members chosen from the suggested list, was approved by the Senate on Wednesday.

Azam Nazeer Tarar, the federal minister for parliamentary affairs, made the motion, which also gave the Senate chairman the power to reorganise the committee’s membership as he saw suitable.

The Minister stated that the Chairman had decided on the committee’s makeup after consulting with the Senate Leader of the Opposition.
Azam Nazeer Tarar, the federal minister for parliamentary affairs, briefed the Senate on Wednesday about the Raoof Hasan incident and announced that a First Information Report (FIR) had been filed and that efforts were in progress to identify and detain the perpetrators.
