Senate Chairman urges people to support govt’s decisions in the best interest of country

 Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has urged people to support the government’s decision to strictly implement the austerity plan in the best interest of the country.

In light of the current financial situation of the country, he was presiding over a special meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Senate at the Parliament House in Islamabad. In order to overcome obstacles on the economic front, the chairman of the Senate noted that difficult decisions must be made. Additionally, he requested recommendations from the Senate’s parliamentary leaders of various political parties. The committee was also given a straightforward update on the actions taken to commemorate the senate’s golden jubilee.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Darcategorically rejected rumours about the country defaulting. He said there are economic hardships and efficient steps have been taken to overcome them. He, however, said that it is a collective responsibility and the whole nation has to contribute. The chairman senate while expressing satisfaction on the steps taken by Ishaq Dar and his team expressed his well wishes for him. A large number of members of the committee also attended the meeting via video link.
