Tuesday saw the unanimous approval of the first-ever Parliamentary Caucus on water resources by the Upper House of the Parliament. The proposal was brought before the House by Senator Saadia Abbasi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The Senate House convened for its 334th meeting, led by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, in this location. The senator argued during her motion presentation that the House could give the Chairman Senate permission to form a Parliamentary Caucus on Water Resources in Pakistan, which would include the members of the Pakistani Senate and the Minister for Water Resources as an ex-officio member. This would be done in accordance with Rule 204 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012.
