Telling the world that Pakistan is a business-friendly country right after revealing the government’s desperation in media won’t ease out the tensed economic situation. Before leaving for Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear that the country is in desperate need of economic help. When asked about the brutal murder of a journalist, responding to which other countries had refused to attend the investment conference in KSA, Prime Minister was of the view that despite all odds, Pakistan can’t question the country from which it is going to seek help, this is what the communication directly or indirectly portrays for the common man.
On the other hand, during our foreign trip we are also telling the whole world that we seek help, we are passing through toughest times ever, the way this government is bragging about corruption no country would ever feel comfortable investing in Pakistan. Economic crunch has actually affected our progress but when we represent a country on international fronts, we do not blame the system, we do not demoralize the potential investor by revealing that we have been ruled over by worst and most corrupt politicians. We sell them positivity, we sell them reasons to invest here, we sell them trust to invest and environment friendliness for Foreign Direct Investments.
Contrary to that, we keep telling about loopholes and rather we exaggerate some of those mistakes and present a picture of Pakistan that’s far from being true picture. This is not going to work for Prime Minister, who’s already going in an opposite direction of what our finance minister is telling the people. Prime Minister needs to understand that while negotiating on international platforms, you can’t, and you must not sell negativity the way he did to wake people up from deep slumber. Prime Minister Imran Khan must start projecting the positive image in the best interest of public. In addition to that, while commenting on CPEC and possible collaborations, government needs to understand the delicacy of the game changer project. At this moment, government can’t afford to annoy China. Understand and value it, Mr. Prime Minister!
