Monday’s terrorist attack in the Bannu cantonment region was thwarted by security personnel.
According to the report, terrorists tried to break into the high-security cantonment area by setting off a vehicle that was carrying explosives on the road that connected the supply depot and the cantonment’s outer wall.
According to the article, “security forces stopped the terrorists’ attempt by acting quickly […] and have begun a clearance operation.”
Locals reported to the media that at approximately 4:40 a.m., they heard two explosions close to the cantonment.
They claimed that after the explosions, homes and businesses close to the explosion site sustained damage, and they expressed concern about casualties.
Officials are still to provide more information. Media has made contact with the local government.
