Even though the government formed a panel to look into the situation, the Supreme Court on Monday took suo motu notice of a letter from the judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) stating that intelligence agencies had interfered in court proceedings.
The first hearing on the matter will take place on Wednesday, presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and a seven-member panel.
Judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Mussarat Hilali, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan make up the bench in addition to the CJP.
Following the stunning letter’s revelation last week, there has been pressure on the Supreme Court, chaired by Chief Justice Picha Isa, to take up the case.
