The Pakistani Supreme Court summoned former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) General Faiz Hameed and others on Friday during the ousted judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s appeal against his dismissal from the Islamabad High Court. The case was handled by a five-member bench that was chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and included Justices Amin-ud-Din Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Irfan Saadat Khan. Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa questioned whether Shaukat Siddiqui’s accusations were real as soon as the hearing got underway. “Was Siddiqui dismissed on a speech made about these allegations?” he questioned afterwards. “Did the general, who you wish to represent in this case, wish to take office in the 2018 General Elections?”
