The Supreme Court decided on Wednesday to reject retired brigadier Ali Khan’s request to declare the 2024 general elections invalid. The hearing was conducted by a three-person bench led by Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Qazi Faiz Isa. The bench also includes Justices Musarrat Hilali and Muhammad Ali Mazhar. Through his petition, Citizen Brigadier Retired Ali Khan has called for a reelection and a probe into claims of election tampering. On February 19, the Ministry of Defence sent Ali Khan with a notice from the Supreme Court; however, the petitioner, a retired brigadier, did not show up for court. The Additional Attorney General reported to the court that Ali Khan’s residence had been inspected by police. He also received a warning from the Ministry of Defence.
