There’s been a Bolly The Fault in Our Stars remake in the works for a while now but we have some more updates.

While Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi have been announced as the leads, Saif Ali Khan is set to have a cameo in the film.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the actor will likely play the author, Peter Van Houten, who was played by William Dafoe in the 2014 Hollywood hit. However, director Mukesh Chhabra has not confirmed this information.

Chhabra, who is making his directorial debut with the film, did go on to say, “We shot in Paris for a week but Saif was only there for a few days. He gelled well with the team and we had a great time.”

He added, “Shooting there was surreal and no, I didn’t make Sushant and Sanjana dance around the tower.”

The film also has a title now which Chief Creative Officer of Fox Star Studios, Rucha Pathak revealed was found through an AR Rahman track.

“AR Rahman, who is composing the music, shared a vibrant and fun number, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. When we heard the song, we found our title in it. It perfectly embodies the theme of our film.”

What is that title you wonder? Dil Bechara.

Chhabra added to the title idea, “But in retrospect we felt that viewers would only connect with it after watching the film while Dil Bechara is selfexplanatory and people will instantly relate to it.”

We aren’t as sure about the film’s title as the director seems to be. Considering The Fault in our Stars is a tragic love story where the leading characters are dying… or die. To tile the film Dil Bechara falls to the Bollywood trope of not being able to control who you love and making it more about not having who you love rather than losing one.

We hope the film justifies the title more and that AR Rahman’s song has more to it than what we’re expecting.
