For people with sight impairments, the white cane is a sign of freedom, self-assurance, and independence, according to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday.
In addition to honouring the bravery and tenacity of people with visual impairments on White Cane Safety Day, he stated that the day should serve as a reminder to all of us to empower and support people with visual impairments and integrate them into society at large.
The speaker underlined that people with visual impairments are a vital component of our society and that it is our shared duty to ensure their empowerment and well-being.
“By harnessing their potential, we can turn visually impaired persons into productive and active citizens,” he stated.
