ISLAMABAD: Qamar Zaman Kaira, the prime minister’s advisor on Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir affairs, stated on Sunday that our party always upholds the country’s constitution because the rule of law preserves stability and advances national interests.
Speaking to the media, he said selling gifts received as the head of state was immoral but accepting gifts from Toshakhana was not illegal. Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was criticized for failing to disclose earned income on his income statement by selling Toshakhana gifts, which was obviously “tax evasion,” according to him.
“Imran Khan’s failure to disclose earned revenue in his income statement by selling Toshakhana gifts was a deliberate attempt at tax evasion,” the advisor alleged.
Additionally, Imran Khan allegedly failed to disclose the proceeds from the sale of Toshakhana gifts in his wealth declaration submitted to the ECP, which was also a flagrant violation of the law, he added.
