‘Resolution of Kashmir dispute essential for lasting peace in region’

On Sunday, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that a permanent peace in the area depends on the Kashmir problem being resolved.

He emphasised the importance of resolving this protracted conflict in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He reiterated Pakistan’s moral commitment to standing behind the Kashmiri people in their justifiable fight for independence and self-determination.

On the eve of Yaum-e-Istehsal Kashmir, which is observed on August 5th of each year, the Speaker shared these opinions.

“The Indian government abrogated Article 370 and 35-A of its constitution, stripping Kashmir of its special status and imposing a military siege on territory,” the speaker declared, harshly denouncing the illegal annexation of Indian-Occupied Kashmir.
