LAHORE– Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Tuesday that he was prepared to take part in every meeting of the All Parties Conference (APC) in support of the supremacy of the constitution.
The ousted premier made fun of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah while speaking with Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) President Kazim Khan. According to him, Rana Sanaullah played a significant part in the assassination attempt on him. “I’ve previously mentioned the other two accountable parties. Sanaullah, among the three, had been instrumental in sabotaging the investigation into the assassination attempt on me, he asserted.
Continuing to berate Mr Sanaullah, Mr Khan termed the interior minister as “coward’, claiming that he [Sanaullah] was not the interior minister but the member of the “terrorist mafia”. “To know about the character of Sanaullah, it is better to ask from the father of Abid Sher Ali”, added Mr Khan.
Speaking about the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Khan said, “If the elections will not be held in its time, then one thing will be confirmed that there exists no rule of law in the country.” He urged the PTI candidates to continue the mass contact campaign in connection with April 30.
Slamming the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mr Khan claimed that the PML-N resorted to the old tactics of targeting the judiciary in a bid to mount pressure.
On Monday, Mr Khan accused the police of attacking his party’s workers and photographer in plain clothes.
The deposed premier said, “As witnessed in Judicial Complex on March 18. Today, again, peaceful PTI workers and even our photographer were attacked and arrested by police. This is the height of provocation, using violence against peaceful citizens and abducting them”.
“Even my parked car with no one inside was attacked with windows smashed. This is pure fascism being carried out at the behest of Islamabad IG to create terror in ordinary citizens who support the PTI,” he claimed.
