Recently, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon served on the National Conclave on Mann Ki Baat @100 panel. The actress discussed how, compared to the film industry, women are paid significantly more than men in the television industry during the event. She thinks that the film industry is gradually catching up with this as well. In addition to the previously mentioned point, Raveena mentioned how women dominate Indian television and how OTT platforms frequently feature discussions of women’s issues.

At the event, Raveena Tandon said, “We also talk about pay disparity, but in the TV industry today, women are paid much higher than their male counterparts, which is a great thing because of the kind of work they do and I think in our TV industry, women rule. In OTT platforms, too, the protagonists are mostly women and women’s issues are discussed.

The actress further stated, “In the film industry, we are going there slowly but surely because it has been a male-dominated industry since the beginning, but there is definitely a change. Our women have broken the glass ceiling, we have entered every male bastion…”

“I was very thankful that my work was being recognised and today I am being honoured in front of the nation. It was really a beautiful feeling. And the second thought was I wish my dad (Ravi Tandon) was here to see it for sure,” she said.

On the work front, she has Aranyak 2 and Patna Shukla lined up in the pipeline.
