Ranveer was dating someone else but flirting with me: Deepika Padukone

MUMBAI: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s romance has been one hot topic this year. Their wedding was a magical extravaganza which had everyone mesmerised.

However, even after their wedding festivities have come to an end, it doesn’t seem like people are done gushing. The latest news regarding the star couple is that Deepika has revealed her first meeting with her husband. In a recent interview with Filmfare, the Om Shanti Om star disclosed how Ranveer flirted with her the first time they met, even though he was dating someone else.

“We were both at YashRaj and he was flirting like it’s nobody’s business,” shared Deepika. “He was dating somebody else at this point and I was smiling to myself. Then I told him, ‘You are flirting with me.’” Deepika remembered thinking that he was not her type.

Speaking of her memories with the Band Baaja Baaraat actor, Deepika revealed how the two would always go out for lunches and dinners at the beginning of their relationship. However, it was their time together on the sets of Ram Leela that made all the difference.

It wasn’t just the Piku actor that divulged information on their first encounter. At a recent event, Ranveer also shared details of one of his first meetings with Deepika stating that he nearly embarrassed himself.  He disclosed that he was out for a private dinner with his parents when Deepika walked in. He excitedly whispered to his parents that she was sitting right behind them, “I was a huge fan of hers”  and told them that he’d introduce himself later.

But before he could do so, he ended up having an allergic reaction to the prawns. So when he finally got around to meeting her, he was more preoccupied with hiding his face. “But my one takeaway from that meeting was ‘how can anyone look like that.’”

Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in a secret ceremony on November 14 and 15. The festivities in Italy had only close friends and family in attendance.
