ISLAMABAD: Qamar Zaman Kaira, the prime minister’s advisor on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, urged the leaders of all political parties to respect the national security institutions and issued a warning that there would be no compromise on the nation’s law and order situation. Speaking to the media, he claimed that police and other law enforcement agencies were unarmed and only carrying out court orders. He added that Imran Khan had been summoned to court but did not show up, so he turned his employees against the police in an effort to protect himself.

“Respect for the institutions is mandatory for the leaders of all political parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, he said, adding, PTI leaders and supporters should keep in mind the sanctity of reputable institutions, including police forces.”

He criticized that cowardly acts by Imran Khan put his political party against the state to establish state writ. Kaira said a ‘trained group of people’ was resisting the authorities at Zaman Park and should be arrested to ascertain their motives.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Senator Nisar Khuhro has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan should surrender for a peaceful environment in the country instead of challenging the writ of the state.

Khan should end intermittent clashes between police and his party’s workers outside his residence, he said while talking to a private news channel.

Khuhro said that every institution had the right to apprise the public about any fake propaganda against it, adding, the unconstitutional demands and conspiracies against the state institutions had been exposed in front of the public.

PTI leaders should not compromise their prestige just to support their leader’s anti-state agenda, he said, adding, the people who take the law into their own hands would not be given any concession.
