The chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, opened an online application on Monday to make it easier for Lahoris to obtain learning licences. Details indicate that Punjab’s caretaker government and Punjab police have released an app that will let people obtain a learning driver’s licence from the comfort of their homes and avoid standing in line. In the meantime, those who are still having problems and are unable to obtain a licence through an application can do so at the front desk of any of Punjab’s 737 police stations or Khidmat Marakiz.Meanwhile, the 34th provincial cabinet meeting, presided over by Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister, was approved on Monday at his office. The changes approved expanded the legal status of motorbike rickshaws by amending the Motor Vehicles Rules of 1969. The regional transport authority has been recognised as a special registration authority for the temporary registration of currently operating motorcycle-rickshaws. These rickshaws will now be classified as three-wheelers. Motorcycle rickshaws will have a four-month period during which they can be modified in terms of size and design after receiving a temporary registration. Once a fitness certificate has been issued, they can then get a registration number from the excise department. The CM stated that the paperwork have to be written in Urdu and underlined the necessity of streamlining the registration procedure.
