Punjab Governor, CM discuss new LB system, political situation, other issues

LAHORE,  : Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday and discussed Punjab’s new local government system, political situation, ongoing development projects and other issues. Governor Punjab appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Chief Minister Punjab for issuing National Health Card.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Sarwar said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is pursuing a policy of devolution and the new local government system in Punjab is a clear indication that the
government believes in solving the problems of the people at their doorsteps. He said that provision of basic amenities to the people is the top priority of the government.

He said that the people have given a mandate to the PTI Government to rule for five years, adding that the government will complete its constitutional term and the general elections in the country will be held on time in 2023.

He said that the political opponents who have engaged in negative politics in the country have failed in the past and will also fail in future. He advised the opposition to wait for next general elections instead of taking to the streets.

Governor Punjab said that for the first time in Pakistan, work is being done to strengthen the institutions because it is essential for the strengthening of Pakistan. He added that the steps taken by the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make the country strong and prosperous are unprecedented.

Talking during the meeting, CM Sardar Usman Bazdar said that providing maximum relief and facilities to the people under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is the top priority of the government and National Health Card project speaks volumes of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s commitment to serve the masses. With each passing day, the people will be made more prosperous and the opposition elements who have destabilized the country will fail in their plans and they cannot stop the path of development, he added
