Barrister Gohar Khan, leader of the PTI, stated on Thursday that Omer Ayub was selected by former prime minister Imran Khan as the prime ministerial candidate, while Mian Aslam Iqbal was chosen as the chief minister of Punjab. The development occurred during a series of talks between Barrister Gohar and other PTI leaders and the party’s imprisoned leader at Adiala Jail to discuss the state of politics at the moment. Like all political parties, the PTI is assessing its options as post-election deal-making gets underway. The Imran-led party declared earlier this week that it will form an alliance with the Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen in the Centre and Punjab. The party’s independent candidates secured the majority of the vote in the polls.
