PTI treading on path of chaos: Khawaja Asif

On Tuesday, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif claimed that by encouraging the politics of denial, violence, and hatred, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was moving towards anarchy and destruction.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, the Defence Minister stated his viewpoint over the boycott of the Senate elections for Chairman and Deputy Chairman by the Sunni Tehreek-led PTI opposition.

Decisions made by a majority could not be overturned, according to Khawaja Asif, because no one could push their will on others in order to maintain the democratic system.

Instead of contestation, he continued, there should be communication and understanding between rival political groups.

“The PTI sought to pursue a confrontational approach, and we refuse to participate in mayhem.
