On Friday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared that it will contest the penalties imposed on Imran Khan, the founder of the party, and Bushra Bibi, his wife, in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
At a news conference in Islamabad, Omar Ayub, a prominent PTI politician and the head of the opposition in the National Assembly, stated, “We will challenge this verdict in the superior courts.”
Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz referred to it as a “Black Day” and predicted that the “baseless” case against the PTI founder will be dismissed by higher courts.
“The innocent and honest people who follow the path of righteousness are being targeted, while thieves are allowed to roam freely in this country,” Faraz remarked.
