Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), was chosen by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday to spearhead the negotiations through the opposition alliance’s Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen (TTAP) platform, according to sources.
According to the sources, the development occurred after the PTI leadership approved of the use of the TTAP’s platform for stakeholder negotiations.
As soon as the PTI makes a decision, PkMAP leader Achakzai, who will have complete authority to lead the negotiations, would take additional action in this regard.
The negotiations will centre on issues related to the release of leaders and workers who are incarcerated, electoral transparency, and the constitutional boundaries of the parliament, the judiciary, and other state institutions. The development of a consensus among all parties on a common charter will serve as the basis for the talks.
