PTI challenges Election Bill in SC

The Election Act Amendment Bill was challenged before the supreme court on Wednesday by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The decision to deny the PTI reserved seats following the Supreme Court’s ruling was made a day after the government enacted the Election Act Amendment Bill.

PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan filed an application with the Supreme Court, naming the Pakistani Election Commission and the federal government as respondents.
According to the plea, the PTI must be granted reserved seats as a result of the SC’s July 12 ruling because it had submitted its list of candidates to the ECP.
Additionally, a plea was made for the court to strike down the bill and award the PTI the proper number of seats that were set aside.
