Federal Minister for Communications Asad Mahmood has said the provision of the best travelling facilities to passengers on motorways and national highways was among his top priorities.
The minister said he had visited the Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (M-14) and that every effort was being made to prevent accidents on the CPEC and on roads. On this occasion, the minister was accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Motorways, the Ministry of Communications, Captain (Retd) Khurram Agha, the Chief Secretary of Punjab, the Chairman of P&D, the Additional Chief Secretary of Home, and Member of Finance Muhammad Tayyab. Asad Mahmood examined the amenities for passengers using the M-14. He gave the necessary authorities instructions to speed up and finish the development work as soon as possible.
He also reviewed the construction work on rest and service areas, petrol pumps, Masajid, shops and hotels at Hakla, Abdul-khel and Indus River.
The passengers, travelling on M-14, appreciated the lauded efforts of Federal Minister Asad Mahmood for the speedy pace of development work on this portion of the motorways. They hoped that it would be made an international trade way in the future.
