Speaking at an international forum on Friday in the capital of Turkmenistan, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the need to place more emphasis on fostering regional connectivity as well as cultural and economic cooperation.
The president said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan shared a deep-rooted bond of brotherhood that was based on mutual respect, commonalities of faith, and a shared vision for a better and peaceful future. He was speaking at a forum on “Interrelation of Times and Civilisations- Basis for Peace and Development”.
Several regional officials were present at the event, which commemorated the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Turkmen philosopher, poet, and thinker Magtymguly Faragi.
Magtymguly Faragi was referred to by President Zardari as a “towering figure” in Turkmen literature and a “beacon of spiritual enlightenment.” He said that there were significant similarities between the poetry and ideas on nationalism and Sufism of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and the renowned Turkmen poet.
He praised the Turkmen government and people for hosting the event, which facilitated intercultural understanding and debate and gave him a chance to speak with regional leaders about fortifying ties between them.
According to President Zardari, his nation’s dedication to enhancing bilateral relations was demonstrated by his attendance at the Forum.
He claimed that in addition to being a poet, Magtymguly Faragi represented the love of the Turkmen people for their nation and served as an inspiration.
