Police, local people foil terrorists’ attack on police picket

Peshawar: An attack on police picket by terrorists is thwarted by police and localsIn the wee hours of Monday, the district police and a local tribe stopped terrorists from attacking a police checkpoint in the Bakhmal area of this city and forced them to flee without causing any damage or loss. The Bakhmal Ahmed Zai tribe and the police officers stationed at the picket, who were already on guard, joined forces to fight back and drive the terrorists away, according to the office of the District Police Officer (DPO). Using the cover of night, the attackers were able to flee the scene.

Soon after the incident, the DPO and a new police team arrived at the scene and began searching the area. The Bakhmal Ahmed Zai tribe’s cooperation was much appreciated by the DPO. The tribe’s elders pledged to take on terrorists alongside law enforcement and security forces.
