Several lawyers were arrested by a police contingent on Wednesday after an altercation broke out between them outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) when the lawyers tried to enter the courthouse.
Lawyers from Aiwan-e-Adl planned a protest gathering at the LHC to voice their opposition to the relocation of civil courts to Model Town Kutcheri and the allegations of terrorism against certain solicitors.

A violent altercation broke out between police and attorneys at GPO Chowk as tensions increased.

Police responded by using water cannons, tear gas, baton charges and shells to disperse the demonstrators and put an end to the disturbance.
Police reportedly arrested several lawyers involved in the altercation.
