Poet Ahmed Farhad arrested by AJK police: AGP

Ahmed Farhad, a poet from Kashmir who has gone missing, was reported missing to the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday by Pakistan’s Attorney General, Mansoor Usman Awan.
The poet was “arrested and currently in police custody” in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to the AGP. At the hearing of a petition for the poet’s recovery, the AGP disclosed the facts.
The wife of Farhad, Urooj Zainab, filed a motion before the IHC on May 15, asking the court to find, look into, and bring charges against those who took her husband’s life.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani is hearing the plea, and Zainab is being represented in the case by human rights attorney Iman Mazari.
In front of the court was also a report from the DhirKot Kashmir police station.
