PML-N, PPP strike reconciliatory tone in Senate

Friday saw a conciliatory tone from PML-N’s Irfan Siddiqui and PPP Senator Sherry Rehman towards the opposition. Meanwhile, Ali Zafar of PTI bemoaned the “political victimisation” of his party.
Rehman praised yesterday’s Senate session as “very exemplary” and said it was a source of pride for the MPs in an address to the Upper House on Friday.
Her remarks from yesterday, in which she cautioned that “keeping the country at a boiling point was to no one’s benefit” and urged the PTI to “not add fuel to fire,” were repeated today.
Sherry greeted Shibli Faraz, the Leader of the Opposition, upon his return to the Parliamentary upper house. The PPP leader added that since “speaking from the heart is a good indicator,” she had not prepared a speech.
