When Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Bill Gates, the founder and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on Monday, he urged all of the partners to keep working towards the ultimate goal of having a polio-free Pakistan.
According to a news release from the PM Office, the prime minister emphasised that Pakistan was making every effort to eradicate polio during the meeting that was held here on the fringes of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting.
Both leaders had previously participated in a high-level panel discussion at the WEF called “Redefining the Global Health Agenda.” The prime minister expressed gratitude to Bill Gates for his heartfelt message of congratulations following his reelection.
Bill Gates mentioned the Punjab province’s immunisation and polio vaccine programme.
