On Tuesday, the country’s prime minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, issued an order requiring the filing of a report outlining the prompt and transparent distribution of relief to those impacted by the recent, intense rains.
In addition, he gave the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) instructions to work with the provinces to complete a joint survey report in order to strengthen their cooperation in the event of future disasters.
According to a press release from PM Office Media Wing, the PM also requested an implementation report about his previous tenure’s directive regarding the technical enhancement of NDMA.
The NDMA provided the prime minister with a thorough briefing on the preparations for the weather, relief efforts, and rehabilitation efforts following the recent deluges.
