Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif described his recent successful trips to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar as “successful and productive” when he updated the cabinet members on Monday.
Speaking to the cabinet meeting, the prime minister stated that he had undertaken highly fruitful and beneficial consultations with the leadership of both Qatar and Saudi Arabia. During the bilateral sessions, a variety of topics were covered in detail, including solar energy, mines, minerals, and the IT industry.
He stated that because Qatar has promised to invest $3 billion in Pakistan, a delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority would soon travel to Pakistan.
He added that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had informed him during a meeting that there was enormous potential for IT-trained individuals and asked him to send the skilled individuals from Pakistan to the Kingdom since they needed it. He also said that a delegation of the Qatar Investment Authority would soon visit Pakistan after Qatar announced that it would invest $3 billion in Pakistan.
He stated that the Amir of Qatar has also made references to establishing an IT park in Pakistan.
According to the prime minister, Pakistan and Azerbaijan had also decided to increase bilateral investment to $2 billion in a variety of fields.
He claimed that during Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s visit, the two nations came to an understanding through the signing of memorandums of understanding.
