Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, stressed the significance of adopting comprehensive measures on Thursday to eradicate corruption in customs operations. He emphasised that in order to guarantee the full enforcement of customs taxes, it is imperative to eliminate needless obstacles and make use of contemporary technologies, such as artificial intelligence and cutting-edge machinery.
The prime minister referred to the customs industry as the foundation of the nation’s economy while presiding over a meeting that was centred on Pakistan Customs and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He said that full digitization and FBR reforms will ensure economic stability.
In order to unify all of these projects under a unified framework, Prime Minister Shehbaz directed the pertinent authorities to guarantee a third-party assessment of reform activities in the FBR and other departments.
